Statement of Qurbānī

◾ Qurbānī" is to make the sacrifice of a particular animal on a particular day with the intention of Taqarrub (the intention to gain reward).

◾ Qurbāni is the sunnat of Hazrat Ibrāhīm 'Alaihis Salām, which has been left for this ummah and our beloved Prophet Sallallāhu Ta'āla 'Alaihi Wasallam has been ordered to do qurbāni; it has been commanded:

فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَ انْحَرْؕ

"Therefore offer prayer for your Lord, and do the sacrifice."

◾ Our beloved Prophet Sallallāhu 'Alaihi Wasallam has stated, "On Yaumun Nahār (the day of sacrifice), there is nothing more beloved to Allāh than the children of Ādam flowing blood (sacrificing). And that animal, on the Day of Judgement, will come with its horn and hair and hooves and, before the blood of the sacrifice can reach the ground, it will gain the status of acceptance in front of Allāh; therefore, do this with happiness."

(Abū Dāwūd, Tirmizī, Ibn e Mājah)

◾ Our beloved Prophet Sallallāhu 'Alaihi Wasallam has stated, "Whosoever happily does qurbānī seeking reward, the fire of Hell will not be able to touch them."
